Dear Parents and Caregivers,
The term is flying by, and it seems incredible to think that we only have fourteen days of school left from next Monday. With Christmas not too far away, our students are busy practising carols for our annual Carols on the Green here at school on Thursday December 7th. Our P&F will have food and drinks available from 5:00pm-6:15pm.
P&F Raffle is underway, and I thank you for the generous donations towards the Christmas Hampers for the raffle. There is still time to send in your donation for the Christmas Hampers.
Teachers are busy finalising student assessments and End of Year student reports. Student reports will be sent home on Monday 11 December with your child. Students will also meet their 2024 teacher and class on Monday 11 December. We will welcome new students and their families to the transition morning.

Facing this downhill run, it can be easy to take the foot off the accelerator and coast into the Christmas season, however it is important to guard against complacency. It is important to aim
for what St Paul writes about in his letter to the Hebrews – show endurance and to finish strong.
Finishing strong exemplifies the importance of students maintaining a high level of commitment and effort to their learning, expectations, behaviour and the OLOG Way, right to the very last day of term. As you know, there is a high correlation between student effort and success. Therefore, I urge all students to give themselves the best chance to succeed by ensuring they begin each day ready to learn and strive to complete all their set work to the highest level possible.
There also needs to be commitment to maintaining high behaviour standards that we strive for every day. I encourage all parents to reinforce this with their child about respectful and positive behaviours in their interactions and in their learning.
Finally, OLOG will be participating in the Glenelg Christmas this Sunday with over 70 excited students. It is lovely for OLOG to participate and look out for our shining stars!!

The following children have been preparing for the Sacrament of Reconciliation;
Oliver B, Indianna G, Daniel J, Ava N and James N.
They will complete their first Reconciliation next Friday at 4.00pm at Our Lady of Victories Church. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
We are looking forward to this Sunday’s Glenelg Christmas Pageant.
The title of our float is “The First Christmas”.
Reflecting our Catholic Identity we are dressing up as angels and shepherds and Maddi S as Mary, carrying baby Jesus. Thank you to the parents who have offered to walk with us, we have enough helpers now.
Please refer to the information about drop off and collection of children which was emailed to parents who registered their children for the event. This week some children helped make stars for the day, I am so thankful for their enthusiasm and willingness to help. The Pageant will be filmed and broadcast on Channel 44 Community Broadcast on Sunday 26/11 at 5.00pm.

Food Safety Changes

Changes to Food Safety Standards: New requirements for Food Safety in Schools
With the introduction of a new Food Standard from 8 December 2023, the education setting will be required to have Volunteers who directly engage in the handling of food, complete a free 1-hour online course called DoFoodSafely.

On Friday 17th November, both 2/3 classes travelled into the city via tram to visit both the South Australian Museum and the Migration Museum. This excursion supported their HASS curriculum which focuses on how things have changed over time.
At the South Australian Museum, students learnt about Australia’s Indigenous history. They compared how objects and tools have changed over time now that we have access to new materials.
At the Migration Museum, students experienced school like it was in the 19th century. They wore old uniforms, used slate boards and pencils, and practiced writing in cursive.
The students had an amazing day and really enjoyed the different activities.
During Term 3, the children in 4/5RM learnt about Graffiti Art and Street Art. As part of their learning they critiqued various works of art, and created their own art. On Wednesday night we held an Art Exhibition and shared our art with our families. The children were very excited and it was great to see so many families come and share their children’s work and creations.

Please remember to be safe and respectful when accessing the pick up/drop off in Agnes St. Please do not park in the pick up drop off zones between the hours of 8am-9am and 2.30pm-3.30pm on School days, if you don’t see your child immediately please circle around the block. Staff are on duty to support students at pick up and drop off times.
Hello, my name is Skye, and I am delighted to be joining Camp Australia at Our Lady of Grace School.
With over 14 years of experience in the childcare industry, I bring boundless enthusiasm, eagerness, and a sense of wonder to my role. Having relocated from NSW nearly two years ago with my very spoilt three-year-old American staffy, Kacey, and my charming ten-year-old blue point ragdoll, Kasper. I have a lot to explore here in Adelaide so please share some areas to see!
In collaboration with the dedicated team at Camp Australia, my goal is to foster an atmosphere of inclusivity and support, ensuring that each child feels valued and secure. I believe in the power of laughter and positive engagement, and you'll often find me running with the students, creating an environment filled with joy and shared moments. Tickets for our Christmas raffle can now be purchased via Qkr!.
If you wish to purchase the raffle tickets (which will be sent home with your eldest child), please follow the below steps:
- Pay for full books via QKR ($10 for 10 tickets) PLEASE NOTE WE ARE NOT ACCEPTING CASH PAYMENTS.
- Tear tickets from booklet and return stubs to the office by Monday 4th December
Tickets will be drawn on Thursday 7th December at Carols on the Green.
On Thursdays we encourage students to bring a game to school which they can play with a friend/friends in the Library at lunch time.
Games day is a lovely social interaction for our children and will continue to run on Thursday's this term.
Games are to be packed in a container/bag clearly labelled with student's name and class.
Please note no Pokémon Cards or trading cards allowed.
